The US did not step up against the Ottoman Empire because they had no interest and nothing to gain from the Armenians. On the other hand, they imported agricultural products from Turkey. From 1990 to 1923, there was a complete transformation of the Ottoman State. The heterogeneous empire with a large Christian population, ruled by a Sultan, changed into a one party Turkish republic in which the Chrisitians were only a small minority. During this period, the Turks assassinated Abdul Hamid in 1909 and set up a dictatorship four years later, and brought Turkey into the First World War. When World War I broke out in the summer of 1914, Russia, Great Britain, and France were allied against Germany and Austria-Hungary. The Turks considered Russia the traditional enemy of the Ottoman Empire. On August 2, 1914, the Ottoman minister of war, Enver Pasha, and Ministry of Interior Tallat Pasha, concluded a secret treaty of alliance wit hGermany. The Ottoman Empire agreed to join Germany against Russia, Great Britain and France. The Turks hoped to defeat Russia with German help and thereby gain control of the Turkish populated regions of the Russian Empire. A victory over the Russians would enable the Turks to establish a Turkish state extending to Central Asia , and thus to achieve the unity of the Turkish speaking peoples. This creation of such a state would create "Pan- Turkism". This alliance with Germany created big concerns. The operation was poorly planned and carried out, and so the Russian counter offenses made great victory against the Ottoman forces. Think about all the elements you must take into consideration when forming verbs. They have tense, number, person, voice, and mood. Where things get especially dicey is with a verbs mood, in particular, the subjunctive mood. Take a look at this sentence: I wish I was/were vacationing on a tropical island instead of at my desk working. The correct verb choice is the second one: were. It expresses the subjunctive mood, something we use to convey a wish or a condition that isnt true. And since the speaker isnt actually vacationing on a tropical island, this is a perfect case for using the subjunctive mood. Most writers will intuitively plunk in some form of a past-tense version of the verb to be in a sentence like our example. The important thing to remember about the subjunctive mood is to choose the correct version. When using the subjunctive mood, the correct version is were. One good test is to mentally add but Im not to the sentence. If that makes it a true statement, then its a likely candidate for the subjunctive mood: I wish I were vacationing on a tropical island instead of at my desk working (but Im not). If he were ten feet tall (but hes not), he could wash the windows without using a ladder. You might hear that the subjunctive mood is fading from common use, and thats probably true (Maeve wrote about that on The irrealis â€Å"were†). However, its still a hallmark of correct usage, and savvy writers will try hard to get it right. Tevye, from Fiddler on the Roof, got it right in the song If I Were a Rich Man. When most people hear the name Joseph Stalin, they usually associate the name with a man who was part of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and was responsible for the deaths of millions of people. He was willingly to do anything to improve the power of the Soviet Union’s economy and military, even if it meant executing tens of millions of innocent people (Frankforter, A. Daniel., and W. M. Spellman 655). In chapter three of Sheila Fitzpatrick’s book, Everyday Stalinism, she argues that since citizens believed the propaganda of â€Å"a radiant future† (67), they were able to be manipulated by the Party in the transformation of the Soviet Union. This allowed the Soviet government to expand its power, which ultimately was very disastrous for the people. The Soviet citizens during the 1930s, particularly the younger ones, believed â€Å"they were participants in a history process of transformation, their enthusiasm for what was called ‘the building of socialism’† (68). The Soviets built hotels, palaces, and had blueprints displayed all throughout â€Å"that was supposed to set a pattern for urban planning throughout the country and provide a model of the socialist capital for foreigners† (69). To further transform the Soviet Union, state officials encouraged citizens to help improve the literacy rate and recognize the many heroes of the socialist state. These heroes, including Joseph Stalin, â€Å"received huge amounts of fan mail and were lionized on appearances throughout the country† (72). They also encouraged the remaking of individuals, particularly through work. Before the transformation, many did not enjoy working, but â€Å"under socialism, it was the thing that filled life with meaning† (75). Numerous interviews an author had with â€Å"transformed† felons, illustrated that even criminals could be transformed into good citizens through work (76). However, Sheila Fitzpatrick argues that these interviews were â€Å"clearly a propaganda project.† The transformation of individuals also included citizens’ desire to become more cultured. Many Soviet citizens characterized peasants, those who were not yet part of the transformation, as â€Å"economical[ly] and cultural[y] backwards† (70); thus, the people wanted to be more cultured to distinguish themselves from the lower-class. Such things as brushing teeth, table manners, and public behavior allowed them to be distinguished (80). Fitzpatrick says on page 80, â€Å"Newspapers and journals carried regular accounts of successes in mastering the first level of culture, [†¦] these should not always be taken literally.† Fitzpatrick again emphasizes that much of the reports during this period were propaganda.

Argument #1 For: Sex offenders, even more so than other forms of crime, are prone to re-offending upon release from prison. Therefore, to protect society, they should be required to register with a local police station, and their names and addresses should be made available to the public. Police would also supply this information to schools and day cares, who will be consequently far more alert to any risk. Parents would find this information invaluable in ensuring their children’s safety, and it would cut the rate of sexual crime by those freed from prison. In the end, we have to protect our children at any cost. Against: This proposal is an essential violation of the principles of our penal system, which are based on the serving of a set punishment before being freed from prison. This registration inflicts a new punishment for an old crime and will lead to sex offenders to be demonized by their neighbours and community, and possibly be forced to move out of the town they are located in. It will also lead to campaigns and violence, sometimes against innocent people with similar looks and names, such a risk cannot be taken. Argument #2 For: Crimes for sexual offence are among the most repulsive and damaging that exist; they can ruin a person’s life. As the offenders responsible for these crimes cannot be imprisoned forever, and must be released at some point extra caution must be taken to ensure they pose no threat to the public. Against: The suggestions of this website are clouding the options. Physiological evaluations can define accurately whether an offender is still danger to society or not. If an offender is still a danger to society then they should not be released from prison, if they are not a danger any more then they should be released and be able to live a happy and normal life. Studies have shown that treatment is quite effective to help reduce the rate of re-offending. Argument #3 For: A national web register would allow police to track re-offenders faster, increasing the success rate and the speed of which they are brought to justice. Against: Police can be aided by a register only available to the police. Making it public might make the offenders run and making it hard for police to track them. Studies have shown that a public register is a subjective to abuse from the public. Around 2 out of every 5 offenders have been a victim of vigilantism. The social ostracism, denial of rehabilitative measure such as housing and stable employment, and threats of vigilantism, making former offenders disobey reporting requirements. Argument #4 For: A national register would benefit sexual offenders directly, as they would be on local registers of counseling and psychological help groups, who would be more able to offer help. Against: Offenders should have access to these services anyway, regardless of whether their names are available to society or not. This register has led to large qualities of withdrawing sex offenders listen on the register, along with their families. The register is a spread of myths and stereotypes used by the public to justify the ostracism and denial of service. Medicare has changes that occur yearly, agents have a lot of rules they have to follow. Center for MedicareMedicaid Services (CAMS) does a good job of protecting seniors. There are certain ways to handle clients. Agents cannot call them. We use to do a lot of cold calling when we got leads. It will provide an out- of-pocket expense at a cap of $6700. The new Annual Enrollment Period is now 10/1 5-12/07/2012. It gives a reduction of donuts-hole costs. There will be an increase in premiums for seniors with higher incomes. CA will provide more managed care than fee for service in health care services. Advisory boards implemented that will attempt to reduce spending per person. Part C is seniors’ Medicare Advantage or Media-gap policies. These options are extremely important as Original Medicare can get very expensive. Both of these choices offer the same benefits as Original Medicare but some offer additional benefits like vision and dental and have a cap on out of pocket expense set at $6700 with Medicare Advantage. Media-gap policies are more expensive but have more benefits. They offer that same basic benefits like host, med, but can cover 100% of costs associated with health care. A mere intention to create legal obligation by people capable of entering into the contract does not create a valid contract. Tupac Shakur, in my thoughts, is the best rapper there is. Tupac Amaru Shakur was born on June 16, 1971. He was born in New York. Tupac Amaru are Inca words. Tupac Amaru means a "shining serpent." Shakur means "thankful to God," and that came from the Arabic language. When Tupac was 12 years old, his first performance was a play "A Raisin in the Sun." In that play Tupac played Travis. In June of 1986, Tupac's family moved to Baltimore from New York. That is where Tupac wrote his first rap. 3 months later Tupac attended Baltimore School for the arts. That is where he studied ballet and acting. About two years later Tupac moves west of the United States to Marin City, California. He moved in with a neighbor and then he began to sell drugs. In 1990 Tupac joins Digital Underground a record label where he was a dancer and a rapper. At the beginning of 1991 Tupac makes his album debut on his new label Digital Underground. In November of 91 2Pacalypse Now was released. Shortly after his 2Pacalypse release. Tupac charged a lawsuit of 10 million against an Oakland Police for brutality after being arrested for jaywalking. On January 17, 1992 Tupac makes his first movie appearance in Ernest Dickenson's Juice, where he played a betrayal role of Bishop. On September 22nd, Vice President Dan Quayle accused that Tupac's 2Pacalypse Now "has no place in our society." Next year on February 1, 1993 Tupac came out with another album. Once it was released it went platinum. It went platinum on April 19, 1995 along with 2Pacalypse Now but that went gold only. On July 23, 1993 Tupac makes his second movie appearance on John Singleton's Poetic Justice. Just before filming the movie Janet makes 2Pac take an HIV test before kissing him in any scenes. On Halloween of 93' 2Pac gets arrested for shooting two-off duty police officers from Atalanta. 2Pac said that he was harassed as a black motorist. The charges were dropped. During the end of November 94' while 2Pac is on trial for sex and weapons he was robbed $40,000 of jewelery and was shot five times. The $40,000 worth of jewelery was stolen in a recording studio in Times Square. The robbers had stole 2Pac's $30,000 diamond ring and $10,000 of gold chains. They left his diamond-encrusted gold Rolex. The case of that robbery was unsolved. 2Pac eventually survived the shots. The next day after 2Pac was shot and robbed he was found guilty with sexual abuse. 2Pac was sentenced to four and a half years of jail. He served it in New York's Rikers Island penitentiary. While 2Pac was still in jail his third album came out called Me Against the World. On its debut week Me Against the World was #1 on the Billboard's pop chart. The album goes double platinum seven months later after it first came out. Some time during October 2pac was released from jail by Death Row CEO Suge Knight for 1.4 million bond. Soon after 2Pac was released he flies to Los Angeles and signs with Death Row and begins his new record All Eyez on Me. On the 13 of February 2Pac's All Eyez on Me, Death Row debut was the first ever rap double C.D was released.. Exactly a month later All Eyez on Me goes quintuple platinum. In the month of May 2Pac and another member of Death Row Snoop Doggy Dogg released "2 of Americaz Most Wanted." It is a video which caricatured Biggie and Puff who are punished in the movie for setting up 2Pac. 2Pac comes back to New York on September 4th for a MTV Music Video Awards and then gets to a little scuffle. Three days later in Las Vegas after the Mike Tyson - Bruce Seldon fight, Shakur was shot four times in the chest while he was in Suge Knights car. 2Pac was shot by an assailant in a white Cadillac. Knight escapes with a minor injury. While 2Pac is rushed to University Medical Center where his right lung was taken out. Six days after 2pac was shot he died at exactly 4:03 PM.
